As she waited for Liefiel to get his things squared away, she'd carefully shrug on her jacket. IT was cold. Not as cold as it was that morning, but certainly not warm by any stretch of the imagination. She wasn't looking forward to this any more than Lief was. In the short amount of time it took for her to put her coat on, Lief had already made it to the door and was angrily signing at her. She approached him and stood nearby in reply, ready to go.
They'd be led outside into the main courtyard. There would be a general dissent among the students as they waited for their teacher to give instructions.
"Is everyone here? Good. Now, what we're doing here in a form of a scavenger hunt. Each team will be given an item. They are to work together to scry the item to determine three things. What it's partner item is, where it is, and where to bring it. The first team to succeed will get extra credit and a free pass to drop the score of your lowest exam. This won't be easy, and it's possible none of you will succeed. You have an hour to find your item and bring it to it's proper location. Keep in mind that no-one will be sharing an item or a location, so trying to cheat off your opponents will do no good." She'd kick a chest next to her feet. "Everyone grab one bag per team, when I give the go ahead, pull it out and begin. Do not worry about returning here, as I will know when you have succeeded. You may go anywhere within the building property, but do not leave it's borders, as what you seek will not be beyond them."
As they gathered their bags, she'd look like she remembered something. "Oh, and if you can succeed without use of any scrying tools, you'll get extended credit as well, even if you don't come in first."

They're not heading for the higher grounds, which gave Leifiel some relief. The walk through the corridors and into the main courtyard was pretty much silent, other than the times Mr. Pink would chirp out the current temperature and air quality.
Once outside, Leifiel had to stifle Mr. Pink to be quiet as the teacher gave out the instructions for today's exercise. It would appear that they'd have to do a scavenger hunt...It's not solo work, but at least he wouldn't have to be stuck with a lot of people.
After acknowledging the instructions, Leifiel went to pick up a bag and waited for the teacher's go-ahead.

The teacher would look up at the clocktower and as soon as it began to chime the half hour mark, she'd give the go ahead. They had one hour.
Once the pouch was opened, Liefiel would be holding a glass snow-globe of the school. Amilia would look at it in Lief's hand, unsure if he was planning on trying to scry it. She wasn't sure how good he was at it without his crystal ball.

The task was simple enough: scry the held item to find out its partner item, where it is and where to bring the two items. Executing that task, however...It wasn't as simple as it sounded. Leifiel was about ready to accept the challenge, but the promise of a little more extra credit for scrying without tools is very much tempting. Of course, with it, he could focus on more important subjects without worrying about failing a different one.
Their item turned out to be a snow globe with a miniature model of the main school building in it. It isn't something that would instantly make any sense to most; Leifiel would be surprised if it did.
The little redhead looked up at Amilia and asked, "I will be doing this manually; how about you?" He held up the snow globe to let her take a look at it.

Amilia looked at the item and then to Lief. <I will as well.> She replied. <I propose that one of us does the actual scrying, the other serving as an amplifier of sorts to boost the energy to help grab onto smaller bits of information and acquire a clearer picture.>

Leifiel gave Amilia's suggestion some thought. As much as having two people scry the item at the same time sounded like the best plan, it wasn't. The mental energies of two different people could clash and cause a disturbance and they'd end up with nothing. And that was if they're lucky. At the back of his mind, Leifiel wondered if Dylan's bad luck had rubbed off on him somewhat...
"Your suggestion sounds plausible." Leifiel answered after some thought, lifting up the snow globe to peer past the glass dome and gave it a little shake. As the white particles inside the dome swirled around, imitating a blizzard, he said, "I'll scry. As such, I'll expect you to make good with the support." "Support! Support!" Mr. Pink chirped before Leifiel stuffed it back into his pocket.

Amilia would nod, smiling at Mr. Pink's chirping. She'd approach and stand next to him and prepare for him to start scrying. As soon as he did, she'd begin as well, but instead of focusing on the item, focusing on amplifying the signal from Lief's attempt, boosting it.
To anyone outside looking, it looked like they were simply trying to scry it at the same time like everyone else.
Lief would start to see a fuzzy picture of a stuffed toy propped up against the snowglobe. The toy would be fuzzy and a red color with splotches of white. Closer inspection would reveal it to be a rabbit shape. It was a toy plush rabbit of red and white propped up against the snowglobe in a round room.

Amilia didn't object to his suggestion, which pleased Leifiel. After all, they don't have enough time to waste bickering over who does what. An hour isn't too long if you'd be looking for unknowns.
Leifiel visibly bristled when she stood next to him, an automatic response, but seeing as it's necessary, he couldn't complain. Much. It did take him a moment longer to calm himself again so he could start scrying.
Once he's calm and relaxed enough (pretending that Amilia wasn't nearby helped), Leifiel started to concentrate, focusing his mind's eye unto the snow globe. It'd take him longer to see anything than if he'd used his crystal ball, but with Amilia acting as his support, it didn't. When he finally saw some scattered blurry patches of an image, the little redhead deepened his focus as a golden sheen replaced the red color of his eyes.
With the addition of Leifiel's focus, the fuzzy patches became clearer and the darkness shrouding the image lifted, revealing the snow globe with a stuffed...rabbit propped up against it. White and red seemed like a shocking combination for a toy, but it's a very helpful clue, so Leifiel took careful note of it.
Further inspection of the mental image revealed a room, a circular room...One of the towers, perhaps...or a central hall? If that was the place they should bring the two items to, where was the rabbit hidden?

Amilia Didn't argue because she knew it would waste time. She personally thought she'd be best as the one doing the scrying as she had more experience doing it tool-less, but Lief's pride would interfere with that logical thinking so she went along with it. With any luck they'll get more points for having the typically Crystal ball dependent seer go without.
She would continue acting as support, and as Lief's image cleared, the strain on her was easier. She'd take a breath and slowly the image Lief was seeing blurrily came into focus for her, looking over his proverbial shoulder. If Lief was tuned enough he might even feel her mental presence, almost like a gentle brush of a silk curtain in a summer wind.
She'd look at he area and try to get some information as she let Lief do the scrying, simply getting fuzzy images of what he was seeing in an attempt to aid, focusing mostly on her boosting as not to interfere with his looking.
The sound of chaotic chatter would reach both their ethereal ears as the vision turned auditory as Lief looked more into the rabbit, but that was all they got.

This is tiring, Leifiel found out soon enough as he began to experience some mental fatigue. He ought to start practicing scrying without tools when he gets a chance! He had to say, the experience was nice.
For now, they found out about the stuffed rabbit and barely a clue about their assigned room. The problem Leifiel wanted to know now is where the rabbit is.
His ears caught the sound of chattering, but it was too jumbled to properly decipher. Not about to be beaten, Leifiel pushed himself further to get a clear sound...
However, the images became warped. The room became a dark hole, the sounds the horrid screeching of bats and there was a streak of green. Leifiel gasped as his concentration was broken and he doubled over panting in cold sweat.

Amilia wasn't expecting the jarring and painful turn Lief's vision took and would have let out a cry of surprise and discomfort had she been able, and instead stumbled back onto the hard ground as though shoved, her brow knitted in discomfort as she tried to figure out what had just happened.
Vision still hazy, she'd look over at Lief, half making sure he was okay and half giving a quizzical expression, asking for an explanation.

Something definitely went wrong there, but Leifiel was unable to explain why at the moment. The warped images felt so very familiar, yet so mysterious...It's irritating, he thought as he was brought down to one knee from the strain.
The snow globe dropped from Leifiel's hand, landing with a dull 'THUD' unto the snow-covered ground, as he pulled his glasses off his face and tried to clear his head with his free hand massaging his temple.
For now, he's as dazed as Amilia is.

Their instructor had departed a while ago, as had many of their fellow students, having gone to more private places to discuss strategy, so they were mostly alone when they both began to reel back.
Amilia would pick up a small handful of snow and ball it into her small hands, pressing it against her forehead to relieve the pain a little, before finally standing and stumbling over to Lief, gently picking up the snowglobe and looking at him with a concerned expression.

Leifiel finally got himself to sit down, his breath quick and the contents of his head figuratively swirling from the amount of information that barged their way into his scrying. He'd seen them before, he'd begun to realize it the more he started to relax.
Wait, if he'd seen the same vision twice (although the second time was just the same vision amplified), then that means---!
The soft crunch of snow being walked on snapped him out of his thoughts, which made the little redhead jump a bit. Leifiel looked up to find Amilia looking at him. Her expression told him her exact question.
He looked away, slipping his glasses back on. "I just had something on my mind." he replied to her as he got back up to his feet, patting the snow off his clothes. "That will not happen again." he added as he reached for the snow globe, ready to attempt another go.

Amilia would nod gently. Lief looked to be okay, so she wouldn't push. IT wasn't like him to get distracted like that, so whatever was bothering him must have been big, though she wasn't sure what it was even from the image. Something scary it seemed.
She'd let him take the globe back, freeing her hands to sign. <I think I know where the rabbit is hidden.> She'd report. <The audio sounded like summoning incantations, so it's possible it's located in the demonology classroom, or the summoning chamber.>
