Why does she insist on walking alongside him? It annoyed Leifiel whenever others did that. In turn, he would walk faster, a feat considering his short strides. Being part-Faerie certainly did have its disadvantages!
At the classroom, which was located at the topmost tower of the academy, Leifiel was glad that it wasn't destroyed in some freak experiment and went in, settling for a seat near the window.

Amilia Easily kept with with Liefiel, lengthening her strides to match his as she made her way to their next class.
Once they arrived, she'd watch Liefiel dart to the window seat. Aw, a shame. She enjoyed the window seat as well. She'd move to another one, less central to the window but she could still look out it.
A few minutes later their instructor would come in and begin to open class. She'd explain how the previous day's lessons applied to their activity that day. "All of you pair up and write down how your morning went. What you had for breakfast. Do not let your partner see. Then I want you to take turns scrying your partner to see what they did, and then write down what you saw. We'll compare the two and see just how accurate your scrying is."
Almost immediately as soon as she stopped talking, most of the class paired up immediately, avoiding the sourpuss Liefiel and the resident weirdo Amilia.

As Leifiel settled into his seat, he just sat there prim and proper with his hands on the desk. As the class was divination, he worked on clearing his mind. He took deep breaths until he got a slow steady rhythm and began to relax. Now if only today's activity was just as relaxing!
Pairing up with another classmate was annoyingly awkward, but it was something Leifiel had to tolerate. His grades counted on that after all! However, he'd have to do a lot more tolerating when he saw who was left to pair with. Damn, those idiots were fast!
With a face as unamused as ever, Leifiel had to pair up with Amilia. After he had written how his morning went on a piece of paper and folded it up, he then looked at her as if daring her to ask him to pair up.

Amilia would look up to Leifiel once she saw everyone else had paired up. She knew she would be with Leif, and calmly began to write how her morning went, folding the paper.
She'd look up from her paper to meet Leif's unamused expression. <Don't blame me that you've ostracized the entire class; leaving me your only option.> She'd say to him in sign. For a mute woman, she had sass. She'd calmly pull out her tarot deck, the one given to her by her father as she waited for Lief.

<Do not talk as if you have not ostracized them yourself either.> Leifiel signed back to her in reply. With a resigned huff, he took the folded paper along with his notes and his crystal ball. He could feel the eyes from both students AND the professor on the both of them, to which he shot dirty looks back at them. The nerve, treating him like a spectacle...But no matter, the lessons are far more important to the little redhead.
He took a seat in front of Amilia, took a series of deep breaths and immediately started scrying into the glassy orb. The faster this ends, the better!

<Says the man who refuses to be courtieus in any circumstance.> She replied. <I do my best to be nice, I simply choose to openly converse with those of the dead, and our peers do not understand. However, I do not keep my ability a secret; one needs only ask, like you did.>
Clearly Leif was going first, and she'd wait patiently for him to finish.
The images Leif would see would be simple. It would start with her sitting at her kitchen table, eating a light fare of the previous night's supper. Before her was a mirror on a stand, sitting upon the table and in the reflection was a dark haired, purple eyed man dressed in a darker shade of purple and brown. Her father. It'd be a generic conversation, and she'd then depart. One thing Lief would notice is that there was a large amount of people among the paths that were empty to his vision, and she would be happily talking to each person. Their dress was old, and it didn't take a genius to determine that because he was scrying through her, he became able to see what she did.
And when 'Leif' approached her in the vision, he'd be able to see just how much of a grump he was from another's point of view.

<I will be courteous as I choose to.> Leifiel replied in his defense. <If they are not fine with that, then that is not any of my concern.> After all, what have they done to deserve any courtesy from him? What pretentiousness!
Leifiel concentrated, gazing intently unto the crystal ball. There was a slight glimmer of gold through his red eyes and suddenly, the haze within the ball parted, giving him a glimpse of Amilia's morning.
Typical morning fare, Leifiel thought with a mental huff. He took note of her breakfast: leftover meatloaf and---baked potatoes! He nearly made a happy jump when he remembered that he was in a memory. Other than that, the rest was generic morning fare.
Except for the people that he knew weren't there this morning. Fascinating; even he was impressed (and a little envious) that there were so many unseen things in the world. He'd very much wanted to learn about Necromancy, but his mother had forbidden him from the subject. Not until he was qualified.
When he finally saw himself approach Amilia, which was no different from seeing himself in the mirror, Leifiel stopped his scrying; he already knew what would happen after that.
-----
As for what Amilia would see once she starts, it'd start with Leifiel working with his parents on their farm, defrosting the frozen plants with heat magic. Even with warm caps and hats, Tellycra's ginger hair and Fo'lleafe's green hair were visible against the whiteness of the snow. One thing to notice was that Fo'lleafe could very well pass for Leifiel's elder brother. Not that Amilia would know that he was actually Leifiel's father.
A glimpse of the clock after which Leifiel snatched a baked sweet potato from the tray on the dining table. He was going to be late, and the sweet potato was all he could have for breakfast.
There were repeated flashes of the sky, which was covered in smog and gently falling snow.
Then there was a brief blankness, the golden sheen fading as the academy's front gates came to view. And then Amilia would see herself standing to the far side, talking to thin air.

Amilia would do her scrying, viewing into Leifiel's morning calmly. His family was very plant oriented, weren't they? She'd smile gently as she observed and once she was back in the real world, would write down her findings and hand it to Leif to validate.
<I suppose I do look odd, talking to nothing like that.> She'd admit.

When Amilia was finished with her scrying, Leifiel started writing down what he'd seen (with meticulously tidy tabs and indents). Some of the details included the old man who was with Amilia, her breakfast (which mentioned what it was composed of) and then the ghostly people not normally seen. When he was done, they exchanged their findings. She was pretty accurate on her side, he noticed.
"Oh, you have no idea." Leifiel replied bluntly to her admission as he waited for the professor's next instruction.

[Oh my gosh I am so sorry. I thought I posted already! ;A; Forgive meeeee. I apparently can't even keep up with one character.]
She'd look at the paper provided to her for a few moments.<That man was my Father, Devi Orenda.> She'd inform him.
The teacher would ask the students to grade the accuracy of the scrying on a scale of one to ten, ten being the most accurate. Due to memories not always being accurate, these points would be extra credit and not have a detrimental effect on one's score.
Looking down at the paper, she'd go to make one marking, but stop halfway through a rounded number, before settling on a 10. For a moment it looked like she was going t give something smaller, but had decided against it for whatever reason.

That was interesting. Leifiel had heard of the old wizard's name before, but he didn't really know him in person. Perhaps someday, when the little redhead had become a master of the craft himself.
He turned his attention back to the paper containing Amilia's findings. Leifiel scrutinized each and every detail of her little report. So far she'd gotten the facts right...Save for that particular part of the morning. He supposed not anyone could see the visions he saw even with scrying...But he wasn't about to be complacent about it.
Because of that, Leifiel gave Amilia a 9. "Try harder." he told her rather flatly.

Amilia frowned gently at Liefiel, and looked like she was about to say something in response, and lifted her hands to sign. <Well seeing as you completely missed the existence of my butler, I could say the same to you.>
Their argument would be cut short as the teacher came around and collected their papers before another mark could be made, stopping to look at the pair. "Must be an interesting conversation you two have going on." She'd quip before walking off. Amilia would stick her tongue out at the woman as she walked away.

Butler? What butler? Leifiel appeared alarmed at that. How could he have missed that?! He immediately recalled the memory...However, now that he was told of the existence of the butler, it was hard to remember every exact detail without unconsciously inserting that mystery person. He couldn't verify who was correct.
<Hmph, that will not happen next time!> Leifiel signed back to Amilia, his expression a determined one. That was unacceptable on his part, and it should never happen again!
The teacher's remark didn't make matters any better for the little redhead. While Amilia stuck her tongue out at the teacher's back, Leifiel threw her a glare that could probably bore through her chest...The cheeky woman.
Thinking that the exercise is now over, Leifiel started gathering his things together, ready to get back to his desk...

"Okay. Now that we're all warmed up, we're doing a field exercise today." The teacher spoke up. "Stay with your partner, and come with me, take only your necessities and leave the rest in the room. We'll be coming back."
Amilia looked at the teacher in surprise. There was no notice of a field exercise that day. She wondered what it could be as she stood and looked to Lief, checking to see if he was ready as the rest of the class rifled through their things and got up to follow the teacher out the door.

Field exercise? Out in the cold? Absurd! Normally, Leifiel wouldn't have any objections, but today is cold. They wouldn't have to work high above-ground...would they? The thought of having to breathe in the thick pollution in the air today made the little redhead pale (if it was even possible).
The rush of activity as the rest of the class made their preparations for the outdoor exercise shook Leifiel out of it. He'd already had his notes, his wand and his crystal ball...What else does he need, he thought as he rifled through his bag.
Mr. Pink, which immediately slipped into one of his pockets, and his scarf, that's what. He wrapped the scarf around his neck, and pulled it up to cover his nose and mouth.
Just as he was about to leave the classroom, Leifiel remembered that he's still partners with Amilia. He paused in mid-step and signed to her <Hurry up!>
