((Date: April 22nd, 1622. Open to anyone.))
A hunting he would go, a hunting he would go. Busy getting parts for the clockwork Tangokitten that he hadn't forseen before. It had been so obvious! Springs for the eardrums! They would have been the best thing for conducting noise. Ah, but such small springs were hard to come across.
"Springs, springs, marvelous things! Bouncing around like metal strings, making sound for clockworky things like cats!" He sang, slightly off key, to a strange beat. Of course, inventors were expected to be rather eccentric. They were all a group of eccentric loonies, really. Even Quinn himself.
And he sure hoped that his son inherited that special brand of crazy from him. After all, Peter was the son of a woman who had been crazy for Quinn, and Quinn, who was just plain crazy as was.

Sarina wasn't as eccentric as this man would be, but by hell she was an adrenaline jockey, especially since she just jumped off of a tall structure for the scrapyard, landed, ran down a plank and then swung off of a protruding bar to land and roll from the impact. Except a gear popped out of her long fall boots.
"Curses!" She grunted as a monocle and top hat appeared on her and she stopped to try and hold her boot together. Damn! Not now! She'd pull her boot off and look around. There had to be some fresh springs and cogs somewhere.
"Huh?" Was that a song? What an... eccentric voice. Sarina blinked and straightened up, keeping balance on just one foot. She pulled her black hair out of her eyes and gazed around, trying to spot the source of this connundrum.
"Hellooo?"

Nor was Matthew, Quinn's creation, half as eccentric as Quinn himself. However, he was quite eccentric when he was willing to 'starwalk' into the scrapyard; at least, that was what he called the move. No one really knew its real name which is obviously the Moonwalk. His creator didn't know that he had followed behind.
He gave a slight start when he'd seen a gear pop out of something, narrowly missing whinging him in the head. That would have left a nice dent. Ah, perhaps it came out of the pile that lady had landed on.
Or maybe that man thr--
Crap. His creator was the man rooting through the scrap? Sheesh. This was not going to be so fun.
"...Eep."

Curses! Tinfoiled again! Where were those darn small springs when he needed them anyway. And ball bearings, for that matter. He knew there hadn't been an easy time trying to find ball bearings as of late, but that kitty really needed the ball bearings or else it wouldn't be able to move as gracefully as he was planning. After all, this little kitty was going to be Matthew's little companion if he had his way.
He paused his singing at the sound of the voice and turned around. "Oh hi!" He bellowed with an infectious smile, giving a slightly toothy grin. He hadn't yet seen Matthew.
At least up until that squeak. Wellp. Things had just gotten awkward fast. How would he explain his way out of this one if his creation asked? "So, what brings ya to the scrapyard? And while we're at it, Matt, why the heck are you here?"

Sarina looked up as she observed the... clockwork? Oh it's a clockwork! He looked nicely built. She'd blink at him and and turn over to Quinn as he spoke up. Oh so they knew each other? That's great but... what is a clockwork doing at a scrap yard? It felt weird to her. Of course, wasn't she the one with different colored skin in this city? She was always out of place.
"Hello sir." She perked up a bit. "Oh it's nothing, I'm trying to find medium sized springs and cogs because my boots are falling apart." Clearly. She was holding one boot whose covering was hanging out and her other boot still on her foot.
"What about you two?" She looked at the two of them.

Yep. Matthew was a rather well-built clockwork. A tribute to his creator's beloved wife, and a brother for his dear son. He scratched his cheek softly, then looked toward the pile. He'd always sort of wanted to fashion little attachments for his ears. Make them more unique. Yes, he loved how his father had made him, but he felt that he needed something to set him apart if he ever made it to the stage.
It seemed that his father and this young lady were both in need of parts for various things. That was all well and good. He wouldn't question Quinn's need. His father worked in mysterious ways, after all. But boots? Why would a boot need parts? "...Excuse me. Whatcha need parts for the boots for?"
He then awkwardly scratched the back of his head. Well, he'd have to fess up anyway. "Well, I was thinking of adding to my ears. Something to distinguish me from other clockworks. You know? I'm gonna hafta make my presence known on the bright stage, you know? I want my name as top billing one day!"

Quinn leaned down toward the boot that Sarina was clutching to with a light smile. He then mused for a moment and turned back to the pile he was digging in. With a few little digging motions, he tugged a few medium-sized springs out and gave a chipper look. "About this size work?"
He then looked to his own creation. Adding to his ears? Why would he need anything fancy added to his ears? Well, obviously besides stage presence. Blue eyes glanced to the ears, then to Matthew once more. He then placed his hand on the clockwork softly. "You could have told me. Don't gotta go sneaking around, son~."
He then perked up some at Sarina's question. "Oh, I'm looking for parts for a new invention. A new clockwork pet."

Sarina looked over to Matthew when he asked what she needed parts for the boots for. Oh well that was pretty easy to explain. She's smile at the Clockwork as he explained he wanted to make additions to his ears. Aww, how cute! She wouldn't say that out loud, though, might be embarassing.
"Oh no no, it's nothing. They're my specially designed Long Fall boots, but they need to be maintained." Quinn mentioned something and she looked over, brightening up. "Oh yes! Those will work! Thank you!"
Now he's explaining what he wants to work on. So a clockwork pet, huh? That sounded pretty cool! She brightened up, putting her boot back awkwardly, knowing that going barefoot in the scrapyard was dangerous.
"Mind if I help?

Matthew scratched his cheek, smiling softly when he found out what the parts were for in relation to the boots. It was an interesting concept that he was surprised he hadn't seen his father try to make after himself and the folding boomerang. He chuckled when his father dug out the parts that Sarina had said she needed. Yep, that was Quinn alright. Too nice for his own good.
He bit his lip lightly when his father chastised him about sneaking around. It was no surprised his father knew exactly the right way to make him feel guilty--in the most gentle and fatherly way. He wondered how many times Quinn had done this to Peter as well.
...Urgh. Peter. What would Peter think of the ear thing anyway?
He blinked at the revelation that Quinn was wanting to make a clockwork pet. He sure hoped it wouldn't be a dog; he still remembered when a clockwork dog had managed to crack his hand majorly with a bite.
"I'd like to help too."

"Welcome! Always happy to help." Quinn gave a cheerful grin, then held the springs out to Sarina with a smile. He couldn't help but do everything in his power to try to help someone out--especially someone who he perceived to be another inventor. "Pardon, I don't think we introduced each other, huh? The name's Quinn Williams, and that charming little Clockwork there is one of my sons, Matthew." He would then tilt his head. "And you?"
His eyes brightened up some when Sarina offered to help him with locating the parts he would need. He then chirruped. "Actually, I don't mind the help at all. It'd actually be good help for me. I still need things like various sizes of springs, some lenses for the optics, various lengths of wire for the movements of certain parts plus the whiskers, ah, and I forget what I was going to use for the claws...or if I even planned claw pieces."

Sarina herself observed Matthew first, though he seemed pretty polite and very nice for a clockwork. She'd give him a nice, reassuring smile before focusing back on Quinn. Oh yeah! Introdictions! Sarina would politely curtsy when he spoke up, and she smiled.
"I almost forgot too, how rude of me! My name is Sarina Fleetfoot. Parkour and runner extraordinare." She then walked over to the pile where Quinn was looking in and she listened to what he neede,d mentally putting out a list of what he needed. Okay. The wires will be hard, but the others should be easier.
"Alright, well, let's get cracking!" She's speak up, cheerfully.

Polite and nice? He was built that way by Quinn. His father was quite the polite and nice guy himself, so of course Matthew would be the same. Except that Matthew was a teen-minded brat sometimes. He gave a soft and cheerful smile.
When Sarina introduced herself, Matthew reached out his left hand to shake hands. "Nice to meet you, Sarina." Oh yes, this boy was so much like his own father.
He rooted down in one of the piles, pulling out a few small lengths of wire to show Sarina and Quinn. He would also reach out small springs, a miniature version of the very springs that formed the muscles in his limbs. Bright eyes tried to hint he was proud of his finds.
"What do you two think of these?"

Darn right Quinn always made sure Matthew was a nice, polite boy. After all, Matthew was to be a reflection on his creator--nay, his family--and Quinn wouldn't be able to take him being incredibly rude to anyone.
He smiled when Sarina introduced herself. "Nice t'meetcha, Miss Fleetfoot. Nice to see there's someone else who appreciates the true beauty of speed." Quinn grinned.
He carefully started digging through until he'd found a couple springs, then glanced up toward Matthew. "Those look good. Find anything good, Miss Fleetfoot?"

"Nice to meet you too~." Sarina replied cheerfully. Well, she was pretty happy herself, so she would treat them kindly. After all, they seemed to not mind her skin color as well, which was a relief to her.
Oh yeah, looking for scrap. Sarina herself would check around, trying to look for cogs small enough to use for both Quinn and Sarina herself. She'd pick up a cog, but it seemed too big for what Quinn needed.
"Just some cogs, but I think they're too big."

Matthew wriggled his feet some, trying to keep his footing in some of the scrap he was standing on. Not to mention his feet were a little on the antsy side so he couldn't help but wriggle them to keep himself from going stir-crazy.
He was glad to have been able to meet someone outside of his family. It wasn't anything personal, really. He just liked to meet other people. His father had built him to be personable, after all! He looked over at the cogs that Sarina had found, giving an appraising look himself.
"Hm. Slightly, right dad? But one might make a good accent for a fedora when I get one." Ah yes, Matthew, the eternally stylish, would make a comment like that.
