((March 22, 1622. 10:00 AM. Anyone welcome.))
With morning came a new day to work. And with a new day to work came Liette, grumpy at the fact that she was running low on brass buttons and had so many designs she wanted to try out that required them.
But that would mean she needed a little more money to get the buttons. And as it was, she was already having troubles as it was. She was making ends meet, but that was about all she was doing. She wished she could do something more.
But that would require getting a big job worth big pay. And it wasn't as though the royal family came to a seamstress; they probably had their own seamstress. Not that any seamstress was half as good as she was. She was better than any other seamstress she knew! Even her own mother! Lord love the lady, but she was a money person, not a stitcher.
She continued to stitch a garment for a customer that had dropped it off the other day. She still remembered what alterations needed to be done--hemming the pantlegs of the trousers, stitching up the tears in the leg, and sewing the copper buttons back on.
Didn't mean she was thrilled with the job of course. She mumbled to herself, though people outside might actually hear it. "What am I? A repairwoman?"
