"Alright. Night Andy. And thanks." He gave a wave and a tired smile as his twin left the room, having given Selena a nod when she departed earlier.
Once they were alone, he turned and looked at Nerys, noticing that she hadn't even touched her bread. "...I know you may not feel up to it, but you really should try to eat something, even if it's only a few bites." He advised. Yes, he wanted to sleep, but the elephant in the room needed addressing first.
"Nerys." He started, to get her attention. "What you did was reckless and stupid, but I really have no right whatsoever to chastise you about it to any real degree." He paused. He wasn't going to go into detail, not until he told Andromeda first. He made a personal promise not to tell anyone outright until he told his twin. "However, in the end you made the right choice, no matter what your motives for departing were. Everything that happened after we left was more due to bad luck than anything you did."
He idly tapped his fork on the table. "While you may have been the one go out and seek him out, I had at least two chances to keep any of this from happening. First when I found you, I would have had little trouble dragging you back to the Star Crash. And secondly when I told you the truth." He met her gaze and continued. "When I went ahead to scout, I learned that your father was leaving the country tomorrow. You have no idea how tempted I was to lie to you, tell you he wasn't there and bring you back. I knew that if you tried again the next night, no one would be there..." He sighed.
"In the end, however, it doesn't matter who's fault it was, or how it happened. All we can do is learn from our experiences and apply those lessons to the future."
