"Well they deserved it for messing with the two of us~." The young man laughed out loud, imagining how that ruffian felt now. Embarrassed, definitely.
Crash had to laugh as Saul spoke up about embarrassing people in fights. Yeah, Crash had to agree that was the best part in fighting. He nodded in return and then put his hands behind his back to look up at the sky as Saul spoke up again. Crash glanced back and shrugged, smiling.
"Hey it's not a problem. Not everybody is social and not everybody wants to talk to a stranger. You seem pretty cool." Especially that sword.

"Very much so, yes." He'd grin, looking in the direction the ruffians had fled. He returned his gaze to his new companion as they laughed at the embarrassment of his opponents in battle.
He then apologized for his previous behavior, he was being a bit of a jerk. "Thank you." He'd reply, before noticing that Crash was admiring his blade. He'd put the flat of the blade in his palm, holding the handle in the other, and let Crash get a good look. "Custom made, bladed on both sides and durable. I have a similar one that's designed to look like a walking stick, for more formal events."

Crash was pretty busy laughing at the insanity that just happened, and the shame that was coming. At least it wasn't the kind of shame that Andromeda did usually involved removing the manhood of any of his opponents if he hated them enough. For now, Crash would stretch and then wink at the other as he spoke up.
"You're very welcome!." Of course he just gaped in astonishment at the quality of the sword. "Ooh~! A cane sword! I heard those are pretty awesome." He grinned sheepishly. "I just handle explosives."

Saul grinned. "It's very handy when you don't want to go about unarmed but not spook people by having a sword on your hip."
So this guy did explosives. "Wait a second, you're that Crash? I think I've heard of you. People call you a maniac." Which didn't seem to be far off the mark.

Crash smirked when the other commented about the hidden nature of cane swords, and he had to agree. He already had enough of a reputation as the crazy man who blew things up, and that was confirmed when Saul spoke up about him being a maniac. He just frowned at that comment. No, a maniac is someone who... well he is a maniac.
"I may be a maniac, but I don't hurt people for no reason. I'm not insane, after all." He pulled a small salute. "People say I'm just a crazy kid, but I'm still capable of being intelligent."

Saul chuckled at Crash, now tht he wasn't being cranky, he was actually enjoying this man's company. "I think you would have been long since arrested had that been the case, Crash." He grinned.
"Still, you don't seem as crazy as people make you out to be. Still, there aren't any mines near town and fireworks are a festival thing. What do you do in your off season?"

Crash just laughed when the other mentioned the illegal things. Well he didn't want to mention he's already wanted in Dula, but that's only because as a kid he exploded the school he was at and helped children escape. In Truesdale he was a law abiding citizen... mostly. When he isn't accidentally wrecking anything, that is.
When Saul spoke up about his pasttime he would speak up. He would have to tread carefully about his activities.
"Well, off-season I usually help my friend Meredith at the bar, or help Anita with her shoe shop. Other times I travel to Dula and rescue kids." That last part definitely seemed off in his case, but it's not far from the truth. He feels he's a Robin Hood anyway.

Saul listened politely, interested in what this strange fellow had to say now, though when the subject went to Dula, he had a different form of interest.
"'Rescue kids in Dula'?" He repeated curiously. "What do you mean by that? I've heard whispers of Dulan slavers stealing Truesdalen and Serian children; is that what you mean?"

Crash's expression went somber, probably for the first time in years. One of the reasons why he was so hyper and diligent was due to the fact that he had a rather rough past. It was a way of masking his true feelings and right now it was starting to crack a little bit. He couldn't even smile in this situation too since it had to do with kidnapping.
"Yeah. It's not a rumor, Saul." He explained, his expression flickering between sorrow and anger. "Dula's head family let's their company kidnap kids to either turn them into soldiers or slaves. It's not a pretty sight." He wouldn't mention that he HAD been a child soldier and a slave himself. But at this point is was probably obvious. It was obvious that Crash wanted nothing to do with himself; it was the other kids he cared for that he worried more about.

Saul looked aghast as he listened to Crash's words, and fell into a somber silence himself, crossing his arms and pondering this knowledge. He kind of always knew, but to have someone confirm it made his stomach churn in anger.
Though it did rise one big question. "How do you come to know all this?" Just what connections did this guy have?
Also... Who was in charge of these rescue operations?
