Julain sighed softly and hugged Caden and Lapis warmly, before taking their hands and leading them back to Corina.
Once back to Corina, Julian didn't seem entirely sure on how to proceed. He didn't want to let the kids get bored but he didn't want to just brush off this nice lady.
He paused for a moment and got an idea. "Yea, I have an idea. Caden, Lapis, if you two want, you can pick something off the table." He knew Caden was a boy and didn't wear jewelry much, but he might find something he liked. After all, men could wear some necklaces and bracelets.
Lapis smiled and looked at Caden, looking very happy.

Caden hugged Julian back as well, heading over to the counter where Corina was with him and Lapis. He scuffed at the dirt with his shoes a bit, before glancing at the counter, then at Julian when he said that they could pick something off of the table.
"Um, okay. I-I'll look."
He glanced back at Lapis, who looked really happy, so he gave her a smile back, and then looked over at the table. What could a boy like him, wear, anyways? Why should Julian even waste money like this on him? Still, if it would make the other happy, he poked around to see if he could find anything simple, but nice.

Corina smiled and let the children choose as they pleased. She smiled and then remembered she had some stained glass tiles under the desk. "Ah, hold on, that's not all to choose from.~" she said as she pulled out the tiles.
With that done, Corina looked back to Julian with a smile.

Julian met Corina's smile as he waited for the children to make their selections. Lapis was just a little too short to see everything, so the blond man knelt behind her and lifted her up so she could see better. [RPer thinks Caden is tall enough to see over the counter]
She'd look over everything and spot a necklace with a silver disk with a rose engraved in it. "Daddy! That looks like Mommy's necklace! Can I have that one?"
Julian looked at the item and lo and behold, it looked remarkably like the one his late wife used to wear, the one she was wearing when she left for the train that crashed.
"Yea, that one is fine, darling."
He'd then patiently wait for Caden to make his selection, hugging Lapis before setting her down.

Caden was indeed tall enough to see over the counter, just barely though. He wasn't all that interested in the jewelry itself. So when Corina pulled out some stained glass tiles that actually seemed more interesting than the jewelry itself, Caden perked up a bit and studied those with a bit more interest.
Then Lapis seemed to make her choice. Okay Caden! Hurry it up so that they don't think you were an indecisive little pest. He then stared at one of the glass tiles, one composed of primarily deep green with some bright yellow on it, and pointed at it.[/color]
"C-Can I have that tile?"

Corina simply smiled and watched as they chose the merchandise.
"They are fine choices!" she said with that cashier's grin. "Are you wanting to get these?"

Julian smiled and nodded, and looked to Cornia since both children made their choices. "Yes, these will do."[/color He'd answer, setting Lapis down with the necklace as he reached into his pocket and withdrew his coin purse. "How much do I owe?"
He'd pay the given amount and pass the tile to his young ward. "Be careful with it, Caden. Don't drop it now."
Lapis smiled widely and, with some effort, managed to clasp the necklace around her tiny neck. "Look'it me, Caden!~" She chimed. "Don't I look pretty?~"

Caden looked again at the tile, and nodded up to Julian as he looked down at the two of them. Yes, he would take that. It was better for him than jewelry at the moment. Right now, as far as he knew, most jewelry was for girls, like Lapis.
"I will!" he said with a firm nod. "I w-won't drop it!"
He looked back over at Lapis, about to help her with the necklace when she managed to get it on. He blinked. "Y-Yes, you are pretty." Girls.

Corina smiled to Julian. "Jewelry is 3 shillings and the stained glass is 6!" she said pleasently.
The saleswoman took the money, "Thank you for your purchase," she said. Corina took a glance to Lapis and Caden and smiled when she saw Lapis happily showing off her new jewelry. Oh man, they were adorable!

Julian handed Caden the glass he chose and then turned to Corina to pay. "Alright then..." He'd dig in his coin purse and withdraw the requested amount, handing it over. "Here you are, lass."
Lapis was more than happy to show off her new necklace, especially since it looked just like her mother's necklace. She smiled wide as Caden called her pretty and skipped about in a circuit around him. "Yaaay, I'm pretty!~ I'm pretty!~"

Corina smiled and nodded. "Thank you very much! I'm glad you all like your purchases!" she said with a dip of her head. Corina then dropped to a bit of a whisper, speaking to Julian. "Julian, if you don't mind me saying, your children are adorable! I haven't seen a child get so excited over jewelry like that!"

[[Skipping Shree this round.]]
Julian smiled warmly at Corina's comment. "Thank you, I'm very proud of them. The necklace looks much like the one my dear departed wife used to wear." He explained quietly as Lapis skipped around Caden. "I wouldn't be surprised of Lapis decided to continue the family business as a jeweler. I hope she does."

(All right)
Corina's smile turned sympathetic hearing what Julian said. "I see . . ." A dear loved one not being there is painful, Corina knew this pain with a family member of hers.
"Heh, Lapis has a nice eye for jewelry. I think she'd fit in quite nicely in the jewelry industry one day." Corina then added.

[Skipping again >>]
Julian nodded faintly in acknowledgement of Corina's sympathies. He'd smile faintly at her compliment though. "She has a good eye. I'm proud of her."
