Benedict himself was wondering what Reuben meant about having more brothers. It went completely over the other couple's head about that, but Benedict was suspicious now. He watched the other very carefully, but he said nothing, just keeping silent as the other mentioned his passing parents.
"Well, I don't even know who my parents are, so..." He spoke up quietly. God bless those parents and hope they are forgiven. Dr. Rosin adjusted his glasses and looked at Reuben sadly.
"I'm very sorry to hear..." He'd offer him the medication and then lean back. "Well, if you two need a place to stay, I believe Sine and I are happy to oblige." He smiled.
Sine snapped back and looked at Rosin. Was he... offering these two boys a place to stay here? It felt awkward for her, but she didn't know why.
"Yeah, and you two take care."

Either way, Reuben didn't care to elaborate what he meant by having more brothers. He had at least one more through Andy, though he knew nothing about the other boy other than black hair and left at a church.
"Yeah... I found out a few weeks ago, but..." It still hurt. Maybe he could have provided them with better care had he been here, or something... He tossed over the medication in his hands and looked back up at the doctor and his wife.
"I don't think I'll make it back to my airship in this state... maybe I'll stay here until I feel better."
...Sine? He frowned, and blinked up at the woman.

Benedict was intent on staying with Reuben though, just to see if he recovered, whether this boy gets the flu as well or not. Plus? Might as well take advantage of the hospitality. Tell them a little about the church. And stuff. Maybe. Either way, he'd shift a bit awkwardly.
"Mind if I stay with you?" He'd ask Reuben, though in his eyes he wanted to ask more questions, definitely in private. He'd look over to Dr. Rosin and Sine.
"You two are more than welcome to say but... what about your horse?" Sine pointed to the grumpy horse that was glaring at Benedict rather unhappily.
"Lila! How did you...?!" Benedict sighed. "Sorry, yes I have a horse. She loves attention but she's been in a rut lately, I don't know why..."
BECAUSE YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY WITH YORU STUPID! Lila whinnied from outside.

Well, why not, Reuben probably wouldn't care too much if his half brother Benedict stayed with him. As long as he didn't try to convert him. He was already Catholic, for crying out loud, he didn't need to be converted to the faith! Even if he didn't really practice or go to church nearly as often as he should, and got drunk...
"Huh? Eh, why not, I probably won't get as bored that way."
Sine... that woman's name rung a bell, but he couldn't quite grasp where. Maybe he was just remembering it finally when he hadn't been able to, even though he'd remembered Dr. Rosin's name right away? That had to be it.
"..." Reuben laughed upon looking at Lila and seeing her at the front of the door, though he stopped when it converted itself into coughing. Good lord, that horse, she creeped him out, but that was funny as anything.
"Sounds like she's in a bad mood." He grinned, sounding amused.

Sine would be happy to jump outside and put her hand on the horse, except that confused Lila even further. Okay so THIS one is also related to Benedict. She'd sniff her and then stare at Benedict. They were all... inadvertently meeting up with one another!
"Wow, she's beautiful!" Sine giggled. "Let's take her out to the back. What does she like to eat?"
"Usually apples and carrots, ma'am but if you have any hay..." Benedict's voice would quiet as they moved Lila to a safer location, as the horse mulled over the family tree.
I wish i could speak human, and tell them everything... Lila snorted. Dr. Rosin himself finished up some paperwork and then mulled over everything. Okay so maybe there was the flu spreading around.
"We might be getting a minor epidemic. A man came in here a few days ago asking for fever reducer as well." He wouldn't mention anything else. he wouldn't mention the name or anything else. bad for business if wanted pirates came in here. "I can only assume whomever he was caring for was also sick with the flu."

Well, the woman could deal with the horse. Reuben would be quite happy to be away from the large, hair-stealing mammal that also seemed to enjoy sniffing at him. It was creepy, and he was going to continue to say that it was creepy! Apparently Reubens are always awkward around Lilas.
"She likes smelling people, doesn't she?" Reuben said in an amused tone as the horse sniffed at Sine. Well, the two seemed happy enough, so he focused back on Rosin.
"A few days ago I met with someone who was caring for some flu victims. I think I might have gotten it from him." Hm. Andy, by chance? Nah, couldn't be...

Lila was happily tied up, trying to plot her own little family reunion of people who didn't know they were related, but she wouldn't be able to do that any time soon, not yet. She'd have to drag all of the people to one location and that might be hard. Well, she was situated, and Sine and Benedict came back in.
"She must be a very curious horse." Dr. Rosin commented. Either way, as Sine came in, he would drop the conversation. Maybe Reuben knew that man? Maybe not. All he knew is that there was an epidemic.
"Lila's situated." She spoke up. "Would you two like something to eat?"
Benedict glanced at Reuben. "If it isn't too much trouble...

Yes, Reuben should be scared of the horse. Oh well. He focused more on Sine and Dr. Rosin once the woman came back in, though he was still trying to figure out why the woman's name sounded so familiar - and it wasn't because she was Rosin's wife, either. Oh well.
"I swear I thought she was going to run over me earlier," Reuben commented, and the conversation was dropped. Lila was situated, and upon the mention of food, Reuben realized just how hungry he was. Food would be very nice indeed.
"Could I? I haven't had much all day."

Dr. Rosin and Sine would head to the back, where there was an upstairs area that consisted of their whole home. It was pretty spacious for the area, and consisted of an extra bedroom along with Tangent's, Sine's and Frances' rooms. Plus a good sized bathroom, living area and kitchen.
Sine would head over to the kitchen to whip up a meal. Plus? It was lunch time. Dr. Rosin would nod to the three of them as he walked downstairs to deal with anybody who might come in.
"Nice place..." He looked at Tangent's room. "Is that your kid's room? Where is he?"
"He's at a day care. Usually I would be teaching at this time, but it's the summer." She explained. Plus with all the flu going around... might not be a good idea to spread it to the kids. "Sadly I cannot have any more children..." She sighed.
"So he's your only one?"
"No, I have another, but... I don't know where he is." Sine admitted. She wouldn't go into details about who it was or who the father was, but she wouldn't bother with any details. Benedict sensed this and went quiet.
Was he lost too?

Reuben followed Sine to the back, somewhat leaning on whoever allowed him to lean on them (likely Benedict). Hm, it was a fairly nice place to be living at, even though it was behind a clinic. He glanced over at the bedrooms for Sine and Frances, and Tangent.
"Probably for the best, or he might catch the flu that is going around." Of course then Sine noted that she couldn't have anymore children and he fell quiet.
"...Hm..." For some reason, he felt like he had several pieces of the puzzle, but he was trying to piece them together - and failing.

Benedict was also failing at putting the pieces of the puzzle together, and he would help Reuben over to the table, sitting him down before helping Sine with the meal. It seemed to be some kind of pot pie, though there was only crust at the top. It looked delicious though.
"It should take twenty minutes in the oven. Hold on..." She would head downstairs. Finally! Alone time with Reuben. He then looked over to the boy his age. Benedict would rest, sitting next to Reuben as he spoke up.
"Sorry I had to wait, but... your brother is Caden, no?" He spoke up.

Maybe it was a trait they'd inherited from Andy? Who knew. Reuben collapsed onto the chair at the table gratefully. His legs were pretty achy from all the walking around he had done, and the sudden adrenaline rush he had gotten from Lila was all but worn off at this stage. He couldn't smell the pot pie, though it looked quite good from what he could see so far.
After a bit, Sine left downstairs, and Reuben leaned back on the chair a bit, before Benedict's next statement caught his attention.
"...!" He stared at the priest. "Yes, Caden's my brother, but... how is he? Where is he?" He was anxious to know the kid was alright.

Benedict figured that Reuben would have perked up quite a bit at the thought of Caden, and he would tell him everything. All of what he knew about the child, and meeting up with that man. He nodded quickly and then spoke up.
"Caden came to my church quite a few times in the past, helped around. Apparently he digs graves now... depressing, I know. A man named Julian who works at a store in the city..." He would note the location for Reuben to look for. "And my church is in the eastern part of the city. I haven't seen Caden in awhile, but I know he's alive and doing well. He very much enjoys Lila." Benedict chuckled.
"I'd heard about you when I went to one of the churches at the docks. A man named Andy came up and told him about you and how you were alive." He explained. But then a thought came to him. "There were rumors, about you, Caden said. I'm sorry about those. Rumors aren't true anyway, but I can see why your little brother looks up to you." Benedict looked amused at that.

Benedict was right; Reuben perked up quite a bit, and eagerly listened to all that he could about Caden. He wanted to know what he was doing. His expression did darken a bit upon hearing that Caden was digging graves for money. Garn... it had to be with Garn, the boy wouldn't be strong enough at his age to be skillfully doing that.
"I'll have to go find this Julian, then... once I recover from this flu so I don't give it to him." He needed to make sure that Julian was providing Caden with a good, stable atmosphere, threaten the man a bit to make sure that he took good care of the kid, but only after he had recovered from the flu so that he didn't spread it to his little brother. Of course he groaned when he learned that Caden enjoyed Lila.
"I thought so, that boy loved animals, and Lila is... interesting." No offense to you, Benedict. Hm, right, Andy had mentioned that Caden had been spotted with a priest named Benedict...
"...That's right, he mentioned you to me and that Caden was with you..." Reuben murmured, more to himself than to Benedict. The flu had taken up his attention, though. Of course then Benedict brought up the rumors and Reuben looked genuinely uncomfortable about that.
"Oh yeah, those... I'm surprised he remembers those. About that..." He looked like he wanted to mention more, but then got off the subject. No, it wasn't important, and he didn't need to hear from a priest about how he was a sin from god. He flushed as he was told that Caden looked up to him.
"R-Really now..."

Benedict nodded. If anything, Reuben would do anything to return to Caden. Aww what a cute scene he could imagine. Oh well, for now he would keep an eye on the kid, maybe ride around to find Caden and see if he could herd the kid back to his brother.
"Good idea. I'll ride around and see if I can find him as well." He spoke up. Might be a good idea to keep in close contact with Reuben. He chuckled when he spoke up about Lila.
"She's smart, and stubborn sometimes, but she adores attention." Of course Reuben mentioned that man and he looked at the kid. So when did he get involved with a wanted pirate? he was curious.
"How did you manage to get involved with a wanted pirate like him?" Aww Reuben looked flushed at that mention and he'd nod, smiling. He was lucky to have a brother like that, anyway!
