Fire burned around him as he ran through the streets, avoiding panicking locals, including one who told him to pray to the Lord for mercy, and he sent the young man on his way, before he approached the fountain. Just a few more blocks and he would make it to the Apothecary. Ben's chest pounded and he prayed to the Lord for strength and bravery. It was then he felt something.
Exhilaration. Excitement. Adrenaline rush. He suddenly remembered somethign from his childhood, something lost to him. A face, a woman's face. It must be Sine's. She was wishing him to have a good and safe future. Something deep down he knew it to be true. Sine wasn't a bitch. She did the hardest thing any mother could do, just to give him a semi-proper and honorable life.
"... If there's one thing I learned..." Benedict pulled back the hammer with an audible click. He then grinned. "It's that only God's perfect. This world is a chaotic place, and we are animals meant to survive. Whatever you're doing here, you don't belong, and I have grounds to send you to Clockworks Hell."
He then dove behind a brick wall and then looked over to fire three shots at one of the clockworks, hoping to break it down, and then fire three at the other. He then ducked behind, pulling out some bullets to reload the barrel.

Lapis huddled up against Caden, crying as Julian pulled on Lila's reigns and got them moving, praying for safety and trying to imagine what his brother would do in this circumstance.
He'd charge ahead and do what needed to be done.
Swallowing his fear, Julian rocketed across the city towards the church, only to be stopped by the large clockwork that barred his path.
Two bullets and the thing lost it's sight, but he felt the cold yet hot sensation of the skin of his arm being ripped open as he protected the children, and used his good arm to pull the reigns and direct Lila away, towards the church as he held his bleeding arm against his chest, the adrenaline numbing the pain.
"I'm okay, Caden, just keep your eyes closed and hold on tight." He said.
Ignoring the priests words, the turrets on the guns began to spin on the two clockworks' arms, aimed at Ben.
The first of the three bullets pinged off the metal armor of the contraption, but one of the following three took out the optics on the second, causing is to reel back as it let out a metallic screech. Just as Ben took cover, the first began to fire, whittling down at the wall that he used for protection as he reloaded.

OoC: I'm just going to say that the kids are still on the horse...
Ic: Lila rocketed off of landscape as she tried to move away, hopping over the body of a machine as the other was shot, her nerves shooting up. She could feel in her gut that it was way too dangerous and she was completely white. She stood out like a giant statue in the middle of a prairie. She would puck as she felt extra weight on her, her gleaming eyes looking behind her to see blood. Julian's blood.
She'd kick the metallic creature away and bore her hooves into the ground to race off as fast as she could without causing the kids or Julian to fly off.
---
Ben was in a bit of a sticky wicket, unable to help himself. The machine was still shooting and he was loosing ground and fast. He would reload and whip around, half blindly firing at the CLockwork, and getting up as it was ready to reload. He would race across the landscape to try and find more cover. It was then he met up with a wonderful sight. That is a very angry black haired woman holding an eight gauge shotgun and firing at the machines.
"NOT MY SON, YOU BITCH!"
